Louis Theroux: Behind Bars

BBC2

Louis spends two weeks with the inmates of the notorious San Quentin Prison, exploring the strange and terrifying world they inhabit with its brutal rules and code of conduct.

‘The access he gets is extraordinary, and could never have happened in this country. Come on in, Louis, it seems they said. Just wander around wherever the hell you like. The prison yard? No problem. Chat to anyone you want to - murderers, sex offenders, guards, whoever you like, about whatever you like. He does his naive thing ("really?") and they tell him stuff, loads of stuff, and it's absolutely fascinating, one of Theroux's finest films’ The Guardian

I assistant produced this film in development and on location.
